I’m not going to lie—things got a little weird in the studio this fall.
Instead of doom-scrolling Instagram one night, I found myself spiraling through Facebook Marketplace (as one does when procrastinating). That’s where I stumbled on a listing for nearly 50 porcelain doll molds. A full collection. Arms, legs, heads, torsos—the kind of stuff that makes you pause, laugh, and then immediately question your sanity for wanting it.
Turns out, a guy upstate was unloading his late mother-in-law’s long-neglected stash. For the last decade, it had been gathering dust (and probably a decent amount of nightmare fuel) in his shed. Perfect.
A Strange Haul Worth Bringing Home
So I did what any reasonable ceramicist in Sleepy Hollow would do: drove up a gravel driveway, parked next to an old pickup, and walked past a flock of chickens to meet the seller—a Budweiser in hand, a wheelbarrow full of doll molds at his side.
Cash exchanged, existential dread lifted, and my car was now full of disembodied porcelain baby parts. My one-year-old, Oscar, clucked back at the chickens while I loaded the bounty. Parenting win.
Testing the Molds: Heads, Hands, and More
Back at the studio in Tarrytown, we tested the molds. What came out were piles of porcelain baby heads, arms, legs, and chubby little hands. So many fat, dimpled baby hands. The kind of hands that are equally adorable and unsettling.
Naturally, the next question was: how could we make this even creepier?
Handmade Ceramics Meet Halloween
If you’ve been following us, you know our studio sits right next to the Village of Sleepy Hollow—where Halloween isn’t just a holiday, it’s practically a way of life. This year, we were already prepping handmade Jack-O-Lantern mugs for the annual Sleepy Hollow Street Fair. Subtle, classy, seasonal—perfect for fall coffee rituals or spiced cider.
But the Baby Monsters stole the spotlight. What began as a procrastination rabbit hole turned into a limited-edition collection of creepy-cute porcelain creations.
The Baby Monster Collection
So here it is: The Baby Monster Collection.
Yes, we’re known for Michelin-quality handmade dinnerware, stoneware plates, and signature collections that chefs obsess over. But every once in a while, we follow the weird. The Baby Monster Collection is one of those moments—a seasonal release born from chance, fire, and a shed full of porcelain doll molds.
Don’t worry: we’ll still have plenty of our classic stoneware plates, bowls, and mugs available. But for this season only, you can also snag a Baby Monster or a Jack-O-Lantern mug while supplies last.
Limited Release, Sleepy Hollow Vibes
This limited seasonal collection is available only at the Sleepy Hollow Street Fair. Once they’re gone, they’re gone—no remakes, no restocks.
